Biography
Chris commenced his appointment as Borough Administrator on January 1, 2015, following an initial six month transition that commenced June 9, 2014. He previously served as a Seaside Heights councilman and Borough Administrator in 1993 and 1994. After leaving Seaside Heights government in 1995, Chris served as Township Administrator for Little Egg Harbor Township and Pemberton Township. Chris also gained extensive experience working as an attorney for a prominent New Jersey labor/municipal law firm representing public sector clients in collective bargaining negotiations, arbitration proceedings, employee discipline cases, and discrimination litigation. Before assuming his present position, Chris served as the Assistant Division Director of the New Jersey Division of Local Government Services in the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Chris holds the prestigious Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association. To receive the ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.
Chris possesses a massive collection of historical Seaside Heights photographs, film, video, memorabilia, newspapers, postcards, and documents. He authored "Seaside Heights, A Postcard History" that was published by Arcadia Publishing in 2010, and he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ocean County Historical Society.
Chris is an FAA licensed pilot (since 1985) and U.S. Coast Guard licensed boat captain (since 2014). On weekends during the summer and fall months you can often find Chris and his family on their pontoon boat - the "Sangria Sunset" - anchored in the Seaside Heights Harbor enjoying the best bayfront in Ocean County!
