About the Electricity Utility


The Borough of Seaside Heights is one of nine municipalities in the State of New Jersey that own and operate their own electric distribution system. These nine municipalities are not subject to the jurisdiction and regulations of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

The Electric Utility is the primary point of contact for:

  • Billing questions
  • Delinquent accounts
  • Lien inquiries
  • Payments
  • Start or end service
  • Usage questions
The Borough does not disconnect residential water, sewer, and electric service for non-payment between November 15th and March 15th.

Please be advised that as of January 1, 2016, new tenant accounts are prohibited. All accounts after that date must be in the name of the property owner of record.

Payments

Online

Payments may be made online through our E-Payment Portal. However, please note that there are convenience fees associated with paying your electric utility bill online:

  • Visa debit card - $3.95 convenience fee
  • All other debit and credit cards - The convenience fee is approximately 2.95% of your total bill
  • E-check - $1.95 convenience fee.

Checks must be made payable to "Borough of Seaside Heights" and must include your full account number in the memo section of the check.


ACH Form

ACH Form- fill out this form and mail it in to have automatic withdrawals for water/sewer, quarterly taxes, and electricity. Activity will appear as BOSH on your account (Borough of Seaside Heights). 

In-Person Payments

You may pay your electric utility bill at the cashier window located in the lobby at:

Debit/credit card payments made at the cashier window are subject to the same convenience fees noted above for online payments.

You may use the E-Payment Portal to access your utility accounts 24/7, in order to review utility usage and payment status.
