CODE ENFORCEMENT
Duties
The Code Enforcement Officer's responsibilities are defined by the Borough Code and include:- Conducting field inspections and special investigations to ensure compliance with the various municipal ordinances
- Enforcing rules and regulations in relation to the enforcement of ordinances
- Overseeing and giving direction to the Housing Inspector and assisting the Housing Inspector in the performance of those duties when necessary
- Enforcement of mercantile license regulations
- Enforcing "no smoking" regulations on the Boardwalk Promenade and beach
- Noise complaints
- Property maintenance complaints
- Rental property inspections and certificates of occupancy
