Borough Council adopted Ordinance No. 2018-13 on August 1st requiring that all solid waste be placed in trash bags contained in trash cans with lids not exceeding 35 gallons. The Borough Administrator and Public Works Superintendent may approve a different trash collection plan for businesses located in the Resort Recreational Zone and Resort Recreational District A Zones for the period between May 1st and September 30th each year.
The ordinance is effective immediately but will be rolled out from an enforcement perspective over the next 60 days. After October 1st all residents and businesses will be expected to comply with the new ordinance or be responsible for their own trash collection through a private trash collection service.
