Appellate Court Rules In Favor Of Borough/Casino Pier Property Transfer

A three-judge appellate court panel released today a per curiam opinion ruling in favor of the 2015/2016 property exchange between the Borough of Seaside Heights and owners of the Casino Pier arcade and amusement pier. The court consolidated for purposes of its opinion three appeals challenging the transfer of 1.37 acres of municipally owned beach in exchange for a vacant parcel of land adjacent to the boardwalk (between Carteret Ave. and Sampson Ave.) and the historic Dentzel/Looff carousel. Appeals had been filed by four parties - the American Littoral Society, Inc., the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, Steven Melvin, and Steven Melvin with Robert Moss.
