UPDATE JULY 9, 2018: The Army Corp of Engineers and contractor Weeks Marine, Inc. advised Borough officials on Tuesday, July 2nd, that mobilization for the Toms River South (Ortley Beach) piece of the project will commence on Thursday, July 5th. Mobilization will include occupying and creating a temporary work site on the Hiering Avenue beach for 200' (approximately 15 yards to the north of the Hiering Avenue vehicle entrance). The contractor will need 10-14 days to prepare a pad at the work site for the bulldozers and heavy equipment. The work site will transition northerly. THE HIERING AVENUE BEACH RAMP ENTRANCE WILL REMAIN OPEN. Guests can proceed down the ramp and walk southbound inside a snow fence toward Sampson Avenue. Guests, surfers and X Camp participants will not be permitted to use the Hiering Avenue section of beach while Army Corp commissioned work is being performed. We apologize for the inconvenience. The Seaside Heights piece of the project is scheduled to commence in October, subject of course to weather and equipment related issues.
