Borough Council Seeks Court Order To Demo Merge Nightclub

Borough Council filed in the Superior Court of NJ a verified complaint for summary action seeking a court order permitting the Borough to demolish the structure that was the site of the former Merge nightclub on the Boulevard at Franklin Avenue. The complaint was filed against Saddy Family, LLC; 2-4-6-8 Boulevard, LLC; Robert Bennett d/b/a Venice Amusements, LLC; and Trystone Capital Assets, LLC. The building was damaged by fire on October 21, 2012 and suffered more damage during Superstorm Sandy less than two weeks later. The back portion of the roof collapsed in early May this year causing the construction official to issue an Order to Vacate and Notice of Imminent Hazard.
